The stars were scattered on the ground
All, all but one, which was caught in a tree
The soil gleamed with spilled silver from the moon
And I chanced upon it all – lucky me!
I made my way over
All the precious to take in
I saw treasure all around
I didn’t know where to begin
So I sat down under the tree in restful awe
When that last little star came loose and fell
Right on my head. A friendly little bonk.
And that made me giggle and I forgot to rhyme
